Obituary of Virginia M. Barr

Virginia Mae Barr, 83, Marion, passed away at 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Marion.  She was born in Marion on November 10, 1933, to the late Alfred S. and Mabel I. (Harris) Druck.

Virginia was self-employed in the home healthcare industry and attended Lighthouse Assembly in Marion.  She enjoyed sewing and embroidery, word search puzzles, shopping at Mission Mart, and collecting angels and teddy bears.

She is survived by her children, Minnie (Stan) Gardner, Witherford, Texas, Rodney Barr, Dallas, Texas, Chesta Ribitzki, Salem, Arkansas, William Barr, Texas, Ginny Barr, Marion, and Jimmy Barr, Marion; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; siblings, Roy Druck, Meir Town, Joyce Clark, Marion, Alice (Leland) Richey, Swayzee, Helen Bradley, Gas City; and sister-in-law, Pat Druck, Kendallville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Druck and Alfred Druck, Jr., and a sister, Betty Messersmith.

The family will have a graveside service at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017, at Converse Cemetery with Pastor Dale Schuiteman officiating.
