Obituary of James A. Williams

James A. Williams November 11, 1954 ~ October 19, 2017 James A. Williams, 62, died at 7:25 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at St. Joseph Hospital, Ft. Wayne. He was born on November 11, 1954, in Marion, Indiana to the late Johnie and Dorothy (Headley) Williams and was a lifelong resident of Grant County. James attended Oak Hill High School. On September 28, 1973, James married Debbie Smith. She survives. James was a self-employed drywall contractor for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing guitar with his grandson, Tommy. James was a family man who dearly loved and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, James is survived by his children, Angie (Carlos) Taylor, Ft. Wayne,and Stacey Williams, Grant County; grandchildren, Marissa, Kyra, Taden, Serena, Tommy, Destiny, Shaelind and Cameron; great-grandson, Walter James; siblings, Rosetta Hutchison, Nancy Holmes, Gerald (Roberta) Williams, and Samantha (Steve) Timmons; brother-in-law, Gary Harrold; several nieces, nephews and friends; and his dogs, Dawg and Jack. James was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gene Harrold. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, Indiana. A funeral service for James will begin at 2:00 p.m. following visitation with Linda Headley officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park.
